creating space for being

At khora ARCHITECTURE, we see architecture as a vessel—one that quietly holds the rhythms of everyday life as well as its most significant transitions. Our architecture services are guided by clarity, restraint, and respect for context, with the goal of creating functional spaces that feel grounded, enduring, and lived-in from the start.
We bring a diverse body of experience to every project, shaped by our work across commercial, institutional, and residential environments. This range allows us to approach each design with a broad understanding of how architecture supports functional spaces for learning, hospitality, business, and daily living.
Founded by Heather Lentz in 2025, our architectural firm approaches each project with a focus on both functional spaces and the deeply human aspects of design. Whether we are working on home design or providing architecture services for a commercial space, our process begins with listening—striving to understand the people, place, and moments our design will support.
Heather Lentz founded khora ARCHITECTURE, LLC in 2025, bringing with her nearly three decades of experience as an architect and a thoughtful, client-centered approach to architecture services. A 1999 graduate of Clemson University’s Master of Architecture program, Heather has developed a career shaped by a variety of project types, including tenant infill spaces, historic renovations, college classroom buildings, custom home design residences, and builder spec homes. This breadth of experience enables her to approach each project with both technical confidence and creative flexibility.
Throughout her career, Heather has balanced her professional practice as an architect with raising and homeschooling her two sons—an experience that sharpened her organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail. Managing both roles simultaneously deepened her ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and thoughtfully guide complex processes from start to finish.
At the core of Heather’s work is a belief that every client and project is unique. She is a dedicated advocate for her clients, committed to understanding their goals and navigating the design process on their behalf to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her practice is rooted in collaboration, care, and the conviction that well-considered architecture can meaningfully support the people who use it.
